Here’s what happened at the Rose Bowl 2024 competition…..
This year the annual NECLTL Rose Bowl Tournament was hosted by The Northern LTC and run by Tom Brown. The intention was to use their superb grass courts but unfortunately the weather wasn’t as kind as in previous years, so the tournament was played on their artificial clay courts which still ensured an enjoyable experience for all players.
This year’s tournament was contested by 11 teams, playing in 2 round robin groups with 5 teams in group A and 6 teams in group B. The winners of each group then played in a final to decide who would be taking the Rose Bowl home with them. All other teams would play a ‘Final’ against the team who finished in the same position in the other group.
This year’s grand final was contested between Bramhall Lane (Anna Karavayeva and Alex Graver) and Cheadle Kingsway (Amanda Robison and Adam Robison). The match was of a very high standard with the Bramhall Lane pair eventually winning 7-1.
Well played to all the 11 teams who took part and huge thanks to everyone at The Northern for hosting the event and for their exceptional catering. The finalists prizes this year were once again kindly donated by Jim Hall Sports and this year’s event was organised and officiated by Tom Brown.
The clubs who competed were:
The Albert, Bramhall Lane, Cheadle Kingsway (2 teams), Davenport, Greave, Heaton Mersey, The Northern, Prestbury, Sale and West Heaton
Alex Graver and Anna Karavayeva from Bramhall Lane – winners of the 2024 NECLTL Rose Bowl.
