This year’s Development Fund programme has been a huge success. We used a new coach who is very keen to drive this forward and work alongside the League in the forthcoming years. This continuity will enable us to improve the programme we deliver to the children in the future.
For the 2026 season, we took the programme into an inner city school in Stockport and the children absolutely loved it, the feedback from both the staff and the pupils has been amazing.
Here’s just a few of the positive comments we received from the children;
“I like tennis because Josh makes games that are fun.”
“Josh guides you through each session and is supportive.”
“I like the game where we do matches against each other.”
The feedback from the staff was also extremely positive, they all agreed that the children gained confidence through the programme and it allowed them to shine in areas where they wouldn’t normally be able to. The staff were also very happy with how the coach interacted with the children and his level of professionalism.
Moving onto the 2027 season, we are again looking for another school within the NECLTL area. Budgets within schools are rapidly decreasing year on year and the first area to go is often the sports lessons. The opportunity for children to learn a new sport, get out in the fresh air and exercise is sadly diminishing. Our NECLTL Development Fund is a golden opportunity for a school to receive some free coaching and nurture a love of tennis.

I can’t wait to hear back from you and please, please don’t sit there and think that someone else will do this, the money has already been set aside for future Development Funds we just now need to put it to good use.
